Trail Ultra Marathoner, post RNY
Yesterday I officially became an ultramarathoner.... It was an overwhelming experience and left me with so much gratitude... Lots of pain, but truly grateful for the experience. The cutoff was supposed to be 13 hrs but thru sheer stubborness & grit I pushed thru and got the dang thing done!

ultra mathoner...that means your ran 52 miles right?
Holy ****!
Also, I thinkwe are neighbors. I live in Manassas VA.
If you ever need a pacer for 5-15K, I run from 11-12 minute miles (slow...so you would need to put me in teh end sections where you are tired and not fast anymore) and would be willing to give it a shot (and carry your stuff).

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
It was a bit over 50mi, which I now know is WAY more than enough for me! I think I may be sticking to 50k (31ish miles) for the future..... Unfortunately Stone Mill didn't allow pacers - I think JFK 50 still does though - but we made a little loophole in that rule by having my husband meet us at every aid station, as a mobile sherpa. For anyone considering an ultra and has a spouse who doesn't run, I highly recommend having a moblie crew! Volunteers are awesome and a breath of fresh-air, but one can't expect them to cater to the needs of a post-bariatric runner....

Are you considering the 800? It is a charity fundraiser over 200 miles. Ends in williamsburg. I would love to be a part of it but a) I dont know of any teams let alone teams that need a person and b) not sure how long the legs are.
In the future...keep me in mind. I totally intend to keep up with running. My new years resolutions are more HIIT work (to get faster on the 5Ks). My longterm goal is also Disney half by the time I am 40 or am 40 (i am 38 now and that marathon fills up fast)
