What do people use to track their exercise? I need help with tracking calories burned. Anyone use the fitbit, tracking watch etc...

The only way to accurately track calories burned is with a heart rate monitor.  I recommend Polar's H7.  It's a great device and uses your smartphone.

All of the wrist/clip on devices are nothing more than glorified step counters.  Still awesome, but they won't give you accurate calorie burn information.

Out of curiosity, why do you want calorie burn data?  Eating back what you burn off isn't really a great idea until you're well into maintenance.

I use nexercise. Its only app that I have stuck with. It counts calories but I don't like to do the calorie stuff. I look at how much time and taking into account things I forget things  like walking to the store or house cleaning.

I use a lot of things and then grab a number that is a conservative average of them all. HRM, sports watch number, numbers from exercise database such as MyFitnessPal has, numbers on the machines I'm using... The HRM should be the most accurate but mine is built into the Sports Watch so I have my doubts about it. I also had a spreadsheet that did the same calculation as the Polar watches if you plugged in your average heart rate for the workout.

Ditto on the Polar watch with heart rate monitor. There are lots out there but the Polar FT4 is inexpensive and effective. It doesn't have a lot of the frills like the newer versions but it does the job.

I use fitbit, my fitness pal, and map my fitness as they all sync with each other.

I don't use any fitness tracking device on my every day exercise because I find it expensive. Can someone tell me a cheap fitness tracking device that I can use in my every day workouts to monitor how calories I am burning every day. I read many positive reviews about Polar but I want to know more about this product.

I think it depends on what your goal is.  If you just want to track your exercise, Runkeeper is awesome to log.  But if you want accurate calorie burn info, the Polar H7 is the way to go.

(But you shouldn't be tracking calorie burn if you intend to eat your calories back.)
