Wow nfarris!  I'm in complete awe!  You have such great stamina and endurance!  When I was doing my "long" run the other day it was so hot and humid and I at mile 4 I was thinking how am I gonna make it 3 more miles lol!  Difficult running days when my legs feel  like asphalt make me question whether I'll finish 13.1!  How do you keep your energy up training for all this?

The best advice is steady training.... stamina/endurance definitely doesn't happen overnight, so most training plans for 13.1 are around 3-4 months and for full marathons are at least 5 mo. Plus when acclimating to humid & hot weather during the summer, it can really tank your pace for a few weeks until your body gets used to it.... My motivation really comes from my friends - I look forward to spending time with them on training runs, long runs, trail runs....I'd run anywhere just to spend time & have good convos with them! :)

Well that is awesome! I aspire to such stamina.  Someday, I hope to be able to make running friends.  As it is, I run in the evenings while my kids (3.5 and 2) are asleep and my husband is home.

Marathon! Awesome! I'm hoping to do one next May!  This hot southern heat is not the best weather to train in so I'll save it for the winter!! I'm excited for you! Keep us posted:)
