I am finally feeling like I have energy to work out , yay. I would appreciate any sample workouts or ideas on what to start with. When I go to the gym , I never really know what to start with. If I had a game plan , I think that would be way better. Please share what you started out with.

Thanks!

My surgeon's fees included trainer work at a cardiac rehab facility, and the trainers there started us on treadmills & bikes, with a little bit of free-weights once cleared (about 6 wks post-op). Meet with a trainer at your gym, preferably one with knowledge about PT/rehab. Don't wanna do anything too hard too soon....

Pilates, Yoga... I have tons of DVD's I had from before.. but also have found some intersting workouts, that I never tried.. Body rolling is one. sounds weird, but It ias something I can do postop, I also have the Fluidity bar, I bought it prior to the surgery, planning that I would need something not as intense. My energy level still is down, due to limited calories. but I do it after I eat something to be sure I can "make it".. My surgeon told me nothing is off limits, but I had a laproscopic RNY April 15th

I am 10 weeks sleeve and I currently do cardio 5 days a week for about 30 min. I alternate between treadmill, elliptical and an ARC trainer. I recently just started to add in some light weight training to try and help tones things up as I loose the weight.

Start off slow. Increase the workout as you increase the energy level. Start with cardio. No weight training until you are completely healed, usually after 6 weeks.

I did cardio as soon as my pain level allowed it.  At 6 weeks, I started walk/jog intervals, elliptical, and strength training.  I do strength training 3 days a week and cardio 6 days.  I am 9 weeks out
