Weekend workouts/training/etc
Saturday: ran my first trail race! It was an 8k, and since it's trail, you never know exactly what you're gonna be running but it was 5.04 mi and much fun with friends!
Sunday: a few of us did 9.54 mi early. Knees were pretty achy after the trail race but funnily enough, did exactly the same pace (11.07 min mile) for both days!

Nfarris: trail running does sound fun! Maybe someday! How are your knees feeling today?
Bill: I really dislike yard work lol.
both: great job on the long runs
Saturday, we did a 5K as a family. Bonus, I ran the entire time! Yay! My heel (plantar fasciitis) acted up afterwards. It is swollen and tender. I'm supposed to do 3 miles today but I may stay off it for today and resume tomorrow!
My knees are well recovered after the trail fall - surprising how quickly one can heal from a trail injury opposed to a road crash! For PF, be sure you're stretching out well - - bottoms of feet, calves and hamstrings. Runner's World has some really good foot strengthening exercises that really helped me stave off PF issues during marathon training last summer!
