Talk to me about the Total Gym

I am looking at the Fit and XLS models. I feel totally and utterly overwhelmed by all the different models out there. I am NOT interested in buying a new one from the company given how many used I can find on Craigslist in my area and the tremendous savings to be had.  What words if wisdom can anyone out there share with me. Even if it is that the Total Gym sucks, which is why so many are for sale. :)

Here is my situation...I run every other day and have been using our Bowflex a good bit on non-running days, in addition to Pilates, yoga and core work.  The Bowflex takes up SO much space! The Total Gym has a more compact footprint and given that I have moved full time into our smaller home, that is a huge plus. But don't want to buy something that is not all it is made out to be...so if you have negative insights, I would like to hear them, too!

Come...share the good, the bad and the ugly!!

Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I have a total gym that I bought 10years ago. I love it (when I actually use it). Its almost like a Pilates machine. I also bought some videos for it on amazon. Plan to put it to work real soon. I've seen the new ones and don't see very much worth upgrading for.

Excellent, thanks! There are great deals on the older units, so that is very nice to know!!
