Weekend Training / Races
Ran in the Miles for Memories Alzheimers 5k. Improved my time from last week, but still 30 seconds slower than my PR. I had fun though, and that is a huge improvement over earlier in the summer when I was so angry at myself for not "measuring up" to where I thought I should be.
I am dog sitting a friend's foster dog and he totally needs to be adopted by a distance runner! This guy is awesome - long, ground covering stride. We did 2.5 miles jog and he didn't even care to stop and sniff, just wanted to go.
About to go do another mile with him, then another in a couple of hours (he is crated because he hates my Lab)
Tomorrow is the Pensacola Marathon / 1/2, but I am just cheering on some friends. My first half is next Sunday in San Antonio. YIKES
Ran 1 mi on the "dreadmill" tonight (sat) - - ugh, long day & no time for a real useful run. Tomorrow will be an outdoor run of ... something... TBD.
LJ: good luck at the half next week!!!
