I've been training for the Hartford 1/2 marathon for the last couple months.  I didn't think I'd be nervous but it set in today.  I recently ran the Reach the Beach relay race and ran 13.1 miles last week and felt great.  I know I am capable of finishing but I'm still getting nervous.

Any tips from the runners of the group?

TAPER!! Take the taper seriously, whatever your plan prescribes. Nothing new on race day - from the food you eat to the clothes you wear (and even underwear!) - the only thing that should be new to you is your bib. I also like either doing a drive-thru of the course or a virtual one via Google maps street view, so that I'm mentally prepared of what I'm going to see during the race. If you can, rest & hydrate a lot the day before. (I'm really gonna try to follow my own advice for my marathon, though I'm going to the Expo the day before and that's not very restful. At least I'm gonna hydrate and eat my main meals as breakfast & lunch, with very little for dinner before going to bed REALLY early!).

Thanks for the tips!  I've certainly been resting this week and I have looked at the course a few times but I think I should be more familiar with it.  I really just want this week to be over so I can be done!!
