I know when it comes to walks, runs, marathons, etc., there done in K's (2k, 5k, etc.), How many kinds of K's in walks are there? I know I want to do a 2k walk and 5k walk, but I want to start at the bottom of the totem pole of K's and work my way up. What I'm trying to say is besides a 2k and 5k walks are there also a 1k, 3k, 4k walks? Can someone help me out to understand as far as with the K's form 1 to 5 and the distance of each K 1 to 5.

I hope I made sense in this post.

Thank you in advance.

1 Kilometer or 0.62 Miles

I know you hear most about

5 k, which is 3.1 miles.

10 k which is 6.2.

Half marathons are 21 k which is 13.1 miles

full marathon is 26.2 miles. or about 42 k

Thank you for the info. Now I know. I guess a 3k would be around close to if not 2 miles.

Have a great evening.

Thanks again.

I've never heard of a 2k but I am sure there is every kind of distance.

I have heard of an 8k but that's rare.

Usually you get 5ks, 10ks, half marathon (13.1 miles) and a marathon. After that it's 50k, 50 miles, 100k and 100 miles.

And everything in between.

It seems like I have heard of a 2k, but not at the same time, may be.

I don't think I've heard of a 8k.

I know I have heard a lot about 3ks, 5ks, and 10ks, I also heard of half marathons, and a marathon.

Cool, good to know. Thank you.

A friend of mine just signed up for the 8k so it was in my head. LOL

But it's unusual as is anything under a 5k. Think about it: 5k is only 3.1 miles and the very fastest people do them in under 20 minutes. If you do less than that, that's a lot of organization for an *extremely* short race. I've seen them. But it's usually some fun thing for charity.

Cool.     :-)

I bet. I've heard of people doing it in fast times let alone setting records for a 5k. May be one of these days I can do it at a fast time.

sounds like it's usually some fun thing for charity.

Hi I'm Sandra. I'm 30 years old and I am above 300lbs. However...I have lost 45 already...and looking to lose A LOT more.

I currently live in Fresno California (about 3 hours from LA) and I am looking for buddies to work out with. I have a friend who lives in South Carolina and every day we would text message each other our work outs. Well unfortunately she had a tragic loss in her family and she no longer has the momentum. Although I am doing everything I can for her and she KNOWS I will be here for her when she's ready, I want to continue my workouts.

Because of the awesomeness that we have started...I realized via cell phone (APP, so no phone numbers are exchanged) I am able to work out with whoever wants to exercise. So that is why I'm here. I already have a group started...but its REEEEEEEEALLY SLOW. My goal is to have 2 or 3 workouts posted each day.

All of this will make more sense if you check out the link below. It is a local womens only group, but I am able to extend the WORKOUT version (vs personal in town meetups) to those far and wide. Its free, easy, and innovative so if you want to just at least check it out let me know ok! =)

PS: I'm looking for people who will actually POST workouts...vs join and never do anything :P
Its a motivational mobile group. Check it out....btw this is not spam.. !
