New PR (I think?)

Here's a pic from my 5th Half Marathon.... my "sole sister" and my coach and me holding hands as we crossed the finish - his idea and I hope it gets some press in our running club! While the gun time didn't account for the wave starts - and we were in the last wave, ugh - my official net time (chip time, whatever u call it) was 2:15:38.....OMG I think I PR'd without even trying. That's not me bragging, we actually weren't racing but doing this Half as part of our marathon training. My previous PR was 2:17:11. Wow.....

Wanted to see if you had any thoughts on running with that hydration backpack?  Do you know if it throws off your stride?  Versus the belt/bottles but they don't seem to hold much water, I think that is what you are wearing?

CONGRATS on the new PR!

My camelback is my security blanket! I love it! Once I got it adjusted right, I really don't find it to be a bother, preferable to belts which do bother me. The belts either jostle around if I wear them low on my (nonexistant) hips or cut off my breathing if I wear them higher on my waist.
Only exception is when I'm a moron & try to wear tanks with it... Holy-chaffing-hell, Batman!!! I strongly recommend wearing sleeves (short or long) and NOT wearing a tank or singlet with hydration packs...

Wonderful!! My first (and still only) Half-marathon was 2:21 and change....with a three minute bathroom break (stupid girly issues!).

Congrats again!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
