My surgeon is out, probably on permanent medical leave.  My heart is broken for him.  I wrote this on his "Caring Bridge" site.  It is the only post for pages and pages that has a gold heart  (a "like").  And the like is from Dr. Friedman. I have cried more this evening than I have in a year.

Two years ago this morning, I had the privilege and blessing of having you perform my RNY surgery. What a gift! I have spent several days trying to think of a way to express how much you mean to me - thank you does not seem like enough.
So this morning - 2yrs, 185lbs, over 80 inches, 3 triathlons, multiple 5 and 10ks and the Pensacola double bridge run later - instead of training for my upcoming half marathon, I trained for you. I ran faster, further - I did more weights for more reps - I took less breaks and I fought through the hardest parts.
I am praying expecting strength, determination and great success for you in your own battle now. I am forever grateful and indebted.

My actual training -   PT, 5 stations, 3 rounds

30sec 7.0 sprint, 30 sec 4.8 jog for 5 minutes

resistance band hip abductors (5 each side)

resistance band back leg raises (5 each side... technically glute something but I forget)

lateral bear crawl w/ hop squat (10 squats)

10 decline situps

COURAGE TO START, STRENGTH TO ENDURE, RESOLVE TO FINISH

Ahh Lori... I'm sorry to hear about your surgeon. Life deals some pretty crappy cards sometimes to really good people.

My surgeon was/is an a-holio but I am and will always be grateful for the second chance that he gave me.

I had a rest day.
