Weekend workouts/training/etc

Ran 16.33 miles with my FTM group!! It was a great run, hot & humid of course, and we had some diversion by (allegedly) a body pulled out of the Potomac River so there was a parade of cops & ambulances that we had to move aside for - wow, only in DC, right? - but I did my nutrition & hydration right and we ran at a slower pace then usual. At the end, I felt like I could do more!!! I'm starting to have confidence that I'm actually gonna be able to do Marine Corps and not finish on the back of a wagon....

Well, off to RICE for the next couple hours before I'm volunteering at bag check for a club race! (not crazy enough to run a race after 16 miles!)

Sounds like a great run!

I had 12 miles with the marathon training group today. I, unfortunately, went too fast (for me) the first 10 miles and got behind on my gels (didn't take my first one until after the 1 hour mark and therefore only got one in) and got that terribly, sloshy stomach feeling for about the last 2 miles or so.

It's in the books though, miles on the legs.

On a positive note, I did not have to pee in the woods off the trail, I've never had to before and with this group we run on a greenway a lot. I thought for sure that today would be the day with mileage where it was but, alas, the bladder of steel made it :)
