Hi my name is Destiny. I am almost 5 years post RNY and I'm interested in doing the Les Mills body pump by beach body. My concern is the eating plan for that is too high in carbs for me. Does anyone have any advice on doing something similar or lifting wieghts while eating a low Carb diet.

Most of the bodybuilders I know eat pretty low carb. At least while "cutting".

People *****ally get into body building will go through phases where they eat at a calorie surplus in order to put on muscle. During that time, they also put on fat. Then during the cutting phase, they go low carb to get the fat off. But most of us aren't really into that extreme body building and don't really need to do that. We can just eat a normal diet, whatever normal is for us.

To truly build new muscle, you need carbs. That being said and being a low carb advocate you still need more energy to get through intensive workouts. Instead of increasing carbs, increase your healthy fats instead. This will give your body energy to burn and you will shred body fat in the process. You will be cut in no time.
