Weekend Training / Races
Another bad showing at a 5k. I could say it was exhaustion, and that would be partially true. And the heat index of 91* might have been part. The huge majority? I quit running. #discouraged
This afternoon I dug up a 6x8 flower bed for my parents, then swam just a little just to relax
Tomorrow morning is my first day of Triathlon group training - pier repeats in the sound and a mile run
Saturday I ran 2.80 to make up for the day before.
Sunday was an AWESOME group run! We ran a bit over 12 miles from Bethesda to Union Station - peaceful trail down to DC, ran by Georgetown, past Lincoln & Washington Monuments, WWII memorial, up the Mall to Capitol Hill then ending at Union Station, where we metro'd back to Bethesda. Super fun and great company with my pace group!

We did pier repeats in the sound... probably about 300yds; then 2 rounds of beach starts; then I jogged a very slow, excruciating mile. It is getting more and more difficult for me to face running, because I have not seen improvements, in fact things have apparently gone backwards. I tend to get really down on myself and be brutally hard on myself - so this is a hard pill to swallow.
Saturday I cycled 56 miles on the Olympic Discovery Trail, which runs from Sequim to Port Angeles, WA. It was a beautiful day, and I'm starting to take distances like that in stride...nothing is hurting when I am done and I can continue on to other activities without totally collapsing. This morning we cut our regular ride short...rode about 18 miles, then made it to a bike drive train class, learning how to make our own shifting adjustments. I loved it! 74 miles for the weekend is not bad!!
