Tuesday workouts
Did 5 miles at an average 11 min/mile pace.... and it wasn't pretty. Started out the run with my friend and 2 miles in the guts started having "issues". As in, too much coffee and find a bathroom now! Had to stop for walk breaks b/c the colon was increasing in frenetic cramping. So I told my friend to head back to work because I knew I'd be needing privacy. Sure enough - didn't quite make it and I pooped myself. So threw the undies away in the bathroom, got composed, and ran 3 miles back in a freer state.... Ugh!!! NO more pre-run caffeine!

WOW! Ok, now my own story doesn't seem so.....difficult :)
Signed up for a 5k in two weeks. That was probably 8 weeks ago when I was jogging per my trainer's plan. But after hamstring problems, I'm guessing I'll be walking some if not most of the 5k. Trying to feel ok about that because my perfectionist self is having a hard time with it. I guess at least I'll look good, I'll show up, I'll do it, and I'll finish.
SO--circuit training with trainer today = 45 mins, then jogging as far as I can. Without caffeine :)
There's a great book out there by John "The Penguin" Bingham called The Courage To Start..... a great read for learning to accept oneself for the runner within - in all forms! It doesn't matter if you do a 5 min/mile, do a walk/run or do a crab-crawl for all 3.1 miles - - the point is that you had the courage to start and you'll cross that finish line!

OK...have to say I could TOTALLY identify with that post.....About 2 weeks ago I was out for a run and had to find a "tree" or "shrub" and quick. I did and had to go #2 in worse way!!! Then, my trusty companion and dog Roscoe stuck his nose in it, so when I got home had to give him a bath then take a LONG SHOWER myself....the glorious life of a runner!
Today did 4 miles at about a 9 1/2 minute pace, finally feel like I am getting back in stride...
Yours in WLS Journey,

It has happened to me too. I guess it happens to anyone who has been running. The worst was down in OK doing a long training run. No woods, no trees, no corn fields.... Finally found a construction site and a port-a-poty.
One of the elite runners I know says she drones #1 on the run. Crazy.
Yesterday did 24 miles cycling. Getting close to my first tri and feeling more comfortable on the bike. Now in the time I need to get back in the pool.
have an awesome day ya'll
That happens! I totally wet myself on my last run without realizing it. I looked down and my tights were wet on the inside of my legs down to my ankles. I just had to hope none of my neighbors saw me run home! I'm not sure how to avoid leaking because I need to stay hydrated. I just don't want it to happen in a race!
Been there.... waddled to the finish line so nothing major happened.
Today was an awesome confidence builder, which is what we are trying to focus on (Trainer still tries to make me drop, but when I don't it builds confidence lol )
5 reps, 5 rounds, 2 exercises
65lb dip /press (1st rd 55 lb)
Burpee to lateral box jump (12")
Then we went to the parking garage, 4th floor. The very hot, humid stifling parking garage. She had me run the length for a warm up (ha! in 92* weather). Then - run a lap whi*****luded an uphill ramp to the 5th level, down the stairs to the 4th level and sprint to the end and jog back. Rest 60 sec and then do it again. 3x total. Wooooweeeeee I was whipped and it felt AWESOME!!
I dipped out of doing the noon class. I felt like I could do it and be ok, but I train with the trainer again tomorrow and I would rather be able to give my all there than the class. Still feel really guilty / slacker for missing.
