Sub-par expo, kinda spoiled by RnR races!
I'm beginning to realize I'm a spoiled brat - the 2 Halfs I've done so far have both been Rock & Roll races, so I thought their expos were de riguer. After going to a Destination Races expo today for tomorrow's VA Wine Country, I'm getting the impression that the vendor-sample-smorgasborg-expos are unique to RnR events. Or am I wrong? Anyone got an opinion?
SPI was there, as were Bondi products, but not exceptional prices. Some clothes for sale but since there was an outlet mall only a few miles away, very little incentive to shop at the expo. Just kinda bummed to spend so much to register for an event and not even get free samples of anything... We'll see tomorrow if the race itself makes up for the sub-par expo but I'm thinking that it was the speaker that took up the lion's share of fees - Bart Yasso was there, but unfortunately we arrived too late to see him speak!!

Hearing some good things about Disney (both race & expos) might just be the incentive to do one of their events.... But I gotta hand it to Destination Races (the group doing this last Half) - the course support was WAY awesome! RnR seems a bit weak on the water and heavy on the Metal (ha ha, pun in there!) but this one had PLENTY of water stops & porta-potties.... something I am definitely appreciative of!
