Hi all! Hope your weekend is well!!

Today I was supposed to meet up with our Team Challenge group in Loudon VA to do a 6 mile run and then drive thru our course for VA Wine Country Half Marathon on 6/1..... um, that was until we discovered that the ferry to cross the Potomac River was closed! So, since me & my mentee got stranded on the MD side, we decided to turn around and do our own run... we ran 5.5 miles, at avg pace of 12 m/m.

Tomorrow is FTM group run (where I don't have to cross any friggen rivers to get to!) of 8 miles with my pace group, 10:30s.

I PR'd on one of my favorite 5k runs! It is an evening run  to benefit a Catholic school. Apparently the surrounding neighborhood either goes to the church or has kids in the school because they come out in their yards and cheer you on - folks in lawn chairs, sitting on the porch steps, on the curb with water hoses. 3 or 4 water stations (it is so hot and humid, even though it seemed cool at the start) and Marines or Navy volunteers at every single intersection.  The finish line is like running through a scene of chariots of fire or something lol, a gauntlet of cheering that ends with a volunteer giving you an icy rag and a bottle of water.

Anyway -  my time was 32:06!!  Previous PR was 32:23.  My time at this run last year? It was also a PR - 43:34

Hi All-Nice seeing all the posts about exercising and running! Your all inspirations to me to keep at it.

As I am still not able to run due to ankle injury, been doing biking and working on fitness machines on other parts of my body like chest, shoulders, etc.

Yesterday, did 1/2 hour on the bike (11 Miles) and today graduated to elliptical machine. Ankle was a little sore, but overall it was nice to be back to almost running!

Yours in WLS Journey,

Bill Mac
