My background is in chemistry and microbiology and i really want to understand how my body works as a system.  In order to do that I need a bit more comprehensive understanding on the metabolism occurring in WLS patients.

Something geared toward:

  • low carb
  • low calorie, high protein
  • restricted residence  time in stomach for digestion
  • a high degree of ketosis, body fat burning
  • etc etc.
  • a discussion on the nutrients and fat/carb/protein balance to make it run smoothly

Does anyone know of such a thing?  I'm not looking for blog posts or some health gurus random unsupported thoughts and theories.  good scientific article or book.

ps. i wanted to post this in the diet and nutrition forum ... only to discover there ISN'T really a forum there at all.  just product reviews and a smattering of simple topics and FAQ.  what's up with that?
