Full marathon thoughts already?

Is it crazy or foolhardy to already been entertaining thoughts of a full marathon with about a year and a half of pretty consistent running under my belt but only ONE half marathon? I've thankfully been without injury and obviously want to stay that way.
There's a first year race practically in my backyard in the fall, I have a couple of friends that are going to do (not that I'd be able to keep up with them), it's cheap, and it's got a generous (6.5 hours) time limit.
I've got a twitchy finger hovering on the registration button....
Yeah, no one's probably going to talk you out of this one - - go for it! If you need something to ensure success, join a structured training program. I'm a member of my local road runners club, so I'm doing their First Time Marathoners program - with certified coaches! Not everyone needs this, but I'm certainly the hand-holding type.

Good point. I'd like to be a part of some sort of running club/training program - I just haven't found anything that meshes well with my location/schedule, I'd have to drive 25-30 minute to meet up with the programs that I found and typically I like to do my runs mid-day so I'm not taking time away from family time. I might look more into and just do my mid-week runs on my own but meet up with the group for weekend long runs.
As other have said you are in the wrong place to come and be told "No don't do it"
Do it and get it done!
