Tuesday workouts

Still tapering, easy runs this week. 3 miles here, I probably went too fast. Pace was just under 10:00, which I can't maintain for long.

I'm really considering biting the bullet and paying to join a training/group run program after my upcoming half is over. I want to see some gains in speed and I just haven't been able to do it on my own. I'm not sure if this is all I can do, or if I'm still just too new and need to work more on mileage. I've held off this long because 1) I'm super cheap and don't want to pay for something that is "free" to do and 2) I hate driving someplace to go run and that's my only option if I was to join a group since I live in a 1.5 horse town that has about 7.83 McDonald's per square mile.  Any thoughts?
