Hi:

I'm looking for ideas on how to train for the CN Tower Climb.  I have some joint and

muscle issues so most of my exercise is walking and swimming but I'd like to start some strengh

training.

Any ideas/suggestions that you have are appreciated.

I had to google it! It looks pretty cool.

Do you live in an building with stairs? Work in a building with stairs? I'd for sure take the stairs every single opportunity you had but otherwise I'd just keep up with the cardiovascular fitness. I'm no expert, but it seems that the cardiovascular component/endurance would be the main objective here since it's not a race.

Two summers ago I climbed a lighthouse while on vacation with my kids. It was only 248 steps and I thought I wasn't going to make it back down! Of course, I was 100 pounds heavier and a total couch potato. I'm looking forward to repeating that task this summer.

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Things like Stair Machines and probably spin classes to build the muscles and endurance.

Thx for the ideas and I'll let you know how we do.  Tomorrow I'll be starting on the

Eliptical Machine - and its been years since I've been on one.
