Weekend workouts/training/etc

I ran my biggest distance to date: 14.19 miles! We ran from Bethesda to Union Station..... past Georgetown, along the Potomac, past the Watergate Complex, past the Kennedy Center, along the Lincoln Memorial, past the reflecting pool, along the tidal basin (passing the new MLK Memorial & FDR), rounding the Jefferson Monument, around the Washington Monument, up to the Capitol Building and ending at Union Station! To say the least - a very picturesque and monumental run!

Man I would love to be there in that area to run!

I posted my race report on my 15k yesterday (found out it is the 11th largest in the country and it was a sellout this year).  This week is a rest week per my trainer, except maybe some cardio Thursday / Friday.

Great photo and it looks like it was a lovely day! (of course, that's coming from someone who woke up to 17-degree weather and would have gladly ran in 30s and sunshine than 20s and snow flurries!)

Sounds like a great run Nicole!

Congrats on your race LJ!!

11 mile long run Saturday - my last before the Livestrong Austin Half Marathon on February 17th - boy hope I am ready for those hills!  My knee is still swollen - completing my course of steroids today. At least I don't have any pain in the knee but the swelling is not optimal.

Do you wear any compression on your knees? I usually run with both knees in compression braces for long runs, just as a preventative measure, and just recently got a pair of compression calf sleeves - they made a total difference in how tired my legs DIDN'T feel after 14 miles!

I wore something on it during one run but it seemed to make it feel more unstable instead of less. If I am going to continue with this running thang then I will definately look into some sleeves or stockings for my calves!

WTG on the great run!

I felt a little under the weather all weekend so I rested. Back to normal today.
