Question for all you triathletes.
Ok, so I am on week 2 or 3 of Tri training. A sample week looks like this- Monday Bike Trainer 60 min intervels, Tuesday- 60min run, Wed 1200 meter swim drills and 60 min Bike trainer, Thurs 45 min run, Friday 800-1200yard swim drills, Saturday- long run currently 10-12 miles, Sunday- Rest- and core work 3 day a week. I am worn out. Like flat out exhausted. Labs are fine, nutrition is good, sleep is so/so. Did any of you experience this when you started training? I know I have got to be tough and I am ok with that. I just want to know if I am supposed to be this damn tired. Previously I was just running 3 days during the week and a long run on Saturdays. I am going to talk to my coach about it tomorrow at the swim, but I really wanted to know if any of you experienced something similar. Thanks,

I was just looking at your training schedule and for beginning it is pretty extensive. My first two weeks looked like this, Day one 1 hour of swimming drills, and breathing exercises, a 1.5hr cycling class. Training day 2 800m swim. Day 3 1200m swim 1 hr cycling. day 4 5k run. 3 days off, going into week 4 to 7 increase a day, and added a 10k run. My problem area is swimming so that is why I do so much of it. Sleep is very important so remember to get a good sleep. I think if you are getting a so/so sleep can be a big contributor to the fatigue you are feeling.
M - Treadmill (intervals) 40 - 60 minutes
M lunch - 45 spin
Tues - swim
Weds - spin
Th - run
Fri - swim
Sat - run or bike
As I got further into the year I started adding 2 a days and bricks. I also picked up an endurance 2 hour spin class on Sun which made Mon a rest day. As I got higher mileage I had to start listening to my body and was even taken 2 and sometimes 3 days recovery during the week.
Labs may look good but how is nutrition? If your daily diet isn't dialed in you will get tired as everyday you are draining your glycogen stores and really only replenishing them 1 day a week.
We were intiially taught that protein after a workout is what you need well with this training you also need a good balance of carbs as well. Add more fruits and veggies to your daily plan.
