Being a girl and long distance running (cross-post)

Super-annoyed. I was scheduled to do a long run (16k) today, and I only did 10 (and yes, that's still wonderful that I can do that much, but i'm in marathon training) and off I went. It's day 3 of TOM, and still heavyish, but man it kicked my butt. Crampy, tired, and needing the bathroom.

Anyone have hints on what to do? I'm going to guess just suck it up, live with the fact I didn't finish my run as planned, and move on. LOL

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

First, props to you for marathon training! That's my new year's resolution this year!

Second, yes, it's a bit mental - accepting that your body didn't do what you wanted it to do on a given day. Have faith that for every day your body lets you down, it excels another day that you didn't expect! Just keep on keepin' on!
