Longer cycle shorts

Like many of us, I have serious shar-pei thighs.   Short shorts are not in my future (and the spectators will thank me!).   So I am looking for some longer cycling shorts.  8 inch length is the longest I have found before they go to capri's.  I thought I had searched the internet fairly thoroughly, but haven't been able to find anything.  Any suggestions???

Hi Kat,

I buy mine at Champion online.

These are cotton/spndex and were true to size for me. I wear them under my clothes and even in the pool everyday when i do aerobics. Highly recommend.

I like Moving Comfort brand. http://www.movingcomfort.com/7.5%22-Compression-Short/300379,default,pd.html

Now, I know you're going to say-geeze, those are expensive and yes-they are.  They are compression gear which keep the shar pei thighs in check and the compression helps with recovery.  I love love love compression gear and are worth every penny.

Thanks for the replies!  Actually, I am looking for actual cycling shorts with padding..  I have some compression running shorts that are longer and I love them.  I am going to be cycling, often and hopefully far, and most of the shorts I have found are fairly short.  Thanks though!!

Gotcha-let me ask around.  I bet they can be found.  I just happen to have a guy who bikes on my Face Book.

Looks like you might be looking for a European racing cut length - that is what they call it anyway.  It is from 9 - 11 inch inseam.

Sugoi has some nice cycle shorts that go to right above my knees, but they aren't cheap. Also since your goal is Augusta you may want to invest in a nice pair of Tri shorts. Less padding in the seat but not noticeable on the the Half distance ride

Ck out Terry Cycling -- they have great padded cycling shorts, also, REI carries a nice selection

I found canary bike padding undershort are good for shorter rides under 50 miles.  Not as thick padding as my pearl izumi's but they can be worn under any type of outerwear.
