This is my 1st time posting on the "Exercise and Fitness" forum. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had any success with CrossFit. I've been doing it for 2 months and although I am no where close to where I want to be, I have made some great improvements in my fitness and so far I've loss 40 lbs since I began.
I just wanted to get some insight and opinions from anyone else's CrossFit experience.
Thanks! -Larry

It's a cross training program normally done at a gym or as they call a "Box". They incorporate weightlifting, cardio, and gymnastics into the routine. For example, a workout may include deadlifts, pull-ups, kettlebell swings, and a 1 mile run. The workouts could last anywhere from 20-30 minutes but it's 20-30 minutes straight with a 3-5 minute rest sometimes in between sets. The workouts are really intense but I love it.
For more info Google "CrossFit".
Thanks! -Larry
I do my own version of this. I run 1-2 times a week. Swim 1-2, Hike 2-3 times, yoga twice, bike 2-3, skate 2 and lift weights 2-3 times. It is weather and other activity dependant. I try to build in everyday stuff at the end of each trip so it is part of my schedule. It seems to make it more of a lifestyle and less of a forced activity.
Yes i crosssfit and love it Had surgery in 2009 high weight 350lb present weight 173lb been involve with crossfit for approx a year .i have ran a marathon before but no work is as challenging as crossfit you different exercise that is design tax you as different fit level ex strngth ,cardio fitness, gymnastic
Yes! I have been CrossFitting for three years, and it and Paleo eating are what got me back on track after having my third child. I just passed my 10-year RNY anniversary. I was definitely on the road to regain and feeling HORRIBLE when I decided to give CrossFit a try. Poster above - what you're doing sounds awesome, but it's not CrossFit. CrossFit is randomized functional movements performed at high intensity, and it's different from most anything you'd see anywhere - except that it's now catching on. CrossFit and the Paleo lifestyle make health and nutrition make sense for me, after a lifetime of struggling. Still have to work though!

Thank you for responding! I've been doing CrossFit for a little over 3 months and I love it! Not only are the workouts very challenging but I love my the attitude of the people and coaches at my "Box". Everyone is so motivating and encouraging. I couldn't ask for a better workout environment. It also doesn't hurt that I've lost 48 lbs in those 3 months. I am officially hooked! LOL! Again, thanks for responding to this post. -Larry
