I am scheduled for rny. I weekend cycle anywhere from 20-60 miles. I need to fuel about every hours.  I have energy blocks and variety of bars.  Don't like gu.  Any suggestions or is it trial and error per individual?

It seems like you should have a good idea of what and how much your energy your body needs - I think your only issue will be finding a source of fuel to avoid any potential dumping issues with the RNY. I can't help you there but I know there are several people here who may. Ultimately, it does kind of boil down to trial and error.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery.

Thanks, I do believe it is individualized. It is fun being a cyclist and almost 60. Thalia what I love about road cycling. I see 70 plus year olds out there riding 100 miles.

Bananas are good because it is high in natural sugars which is released quickly into the bloodstream providing rapid source of energy.
