Weekend workouts/training/etc
Happy Saturday everyone! I just did my longest run EVER: 10.5 miles at 11(ish) min/mile pace for 2 straight hours. I'm on my way for having a great performance at the Half in 1 month!!! I love my training group - they are what gets me thru - and we had a lovely day, pretty cold but great views on the Capital Crescent Trail.

WOW... that is so AWESOME!!!
It figures that after I say "when I can't swim I am going to fill that part of my schedule with running" that my knees will be crippling. Infuriating!
Today I walked a 5k with a lady - her first one ever, about 6 months post op. I want to go run, but just the short jogs we did hurt my knees, so I guess I'll bike or something instead.
Hey, sometimes you gotta pay it forward, even at the expense of your own exercise! So good on you for walking with her!

oh no no... that's exactly what I considered it! Last Thanksgiving my trainer and another marathon running friend walked a rainy, col 5k with me. It meant so much!!
I just meant I wanted to go run this afternoon for MY workout, but my knees won't allow it. Tried biking but tires are low and I don't have the right attachment to air them up. Bike shop Monday!
10 mile run today with a friend who had a 20 mile training run. She has gotten my through my first 1/2 Marathon in September and I was able to help her with her last 10 miles. I think I will be able to make my goal of 2:45 in Dec for St Jude if not a bit faster if things keep up the way they are going. :-)
Kat
