Getting into a routine

Hi all!  I'm trying to get into a routine for going to the gym.  I met with the personal trainer and he developed a program for me, then I took the classes and learned how to use the machines properly.  I've been making it there and working out about four times a week.  The problem is, it is seriously cutting into family time.  That is quickly becoming unacceptable.

Here is my question.  How many of you get up early and exercise before work?  How hard is it to get into the routine?  I was thinking that I should just make a resolution to do it for about three weeks to see if week three is easier than week one!

Any suggests on how to transition over to a.m. instead of p.m. workouts.

Here's the deal about becoming a REGULAR exerciser.  You MUST do it when you WILL ENJOY IT THE MOST and you MUST DO THINGS YOU REALLY LIKE TO DO.

If you don't like it, and it isn't at a time you like to do it, you will quit.  Period.

If you like to do evenings the most, then my suggestion is get the family involved!  Make it family time to go for a walk/run, or go to the gym.  If they don't like it, then you may need to be a bit selfish and let that be your "you" time.

There is NOTHING selfish about blocking some time for you to exercise.  My kids are grown, and my DH is very supportive of my exercising so I may not be the best to give advice, but I do know this..........if you do not like the time of day you are trying to do it, and you do not like what you are doing, it will be temporary.

Thanks for the reply.  On day four, I can actually tell a difference.  Believe it or not, I'm not as sore.  I would work out at night then wake up all stiff and sore.  With working out and then going to work, I'm not as stiff.  I'm also finding that I love Planet Fitness in the morning.  It isn't as social, it is quieter, and people are just more focused on their workout and "getting it done".

And, today was the first day I didn't cringe when the alarm went off.  :)
