up to your medical team.  i was cleared for all exercise at 6 weeks.  that being said, i was encouraged to walk at least 30 minutes everyday (which i did) starting the day i went home from the hospital.  while in the hospital, i did laps around the hallway every 4 hours or so.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

well you should start walking right away.  but as for heavy exercise, every surgeon is different.  I had a 6 week wait and I needed it.

I tried exercising 2 weeks after and for me that was too soon.  I decided to give myself additional time to rest and let my stomach staples heal.  I can walk OK, but I'm going to wait til six weeks out to try an exercise program again.
