my first 10k - I did it!!

I almost cried when I crossed the finish line.  It was so hot today but I was prepared.  I really struggled at the 5k last weekend so I changed things up this time.  I had a power protein shake this morning with peanut butter and half a banana.  Before I had just a regular one with just powder and milk.  I also walked the beginning and walked quite a bit during the first 2 miles.  I managed to finish in 1:25.  That's a full 10 minutes faster than I've done at home on the treadmill.

I'm so glad that I DID IT.  I was scared and a nervous wreck.  I can't help but look back at where I was 15 months ago.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought to do something like this.

So I went ahead and signed up for a half in October!

Thanks to all of you for the support!!

Awesome job. Really a great victory for you. Keep up the good work. I can't say I cried at my firsts along the way, but I certainly had an innder confidence that had been missing for many years. Keep up the good work, and keep sharing your victories with us.

Great job & congratulations. Keep up the good work. In high school I used to be a Cross Country runner and won my first senior letter when I was only a sophomore. During track season, I would run all the long distance events for the school. I WILL get back to that shape/condition!

When I run my first marathon, I'll let you know. Until then, I'm working on my journey.
