I did it! It was completely AMAZING! Such a great turnout and the weather was perfect, partly sunny with a cool breeze. I ran the entire thing. I tried to keep to the right so I was out of the way of the faster runners but there were LOTS of kids who would just randomly stop in the middle and a few times I almost ran into them. I had no music, which sucked, because I use my phone and the area we were running in had terrible service...I wonder if my time would have been better if I had music and wasn't messing with the stupid phone for the first mile and a half trying to finagle it to work. Oh well. The second to last street was a very long, gradual hill and toward the top people kept saying "it's all downhill" repeatedly but I had no idea where specifically I was until I rounded the corner and was on the last street and could see the finish line about half a mile away. THAT was a rush, and I was able to hustle because it was in fact downhill LOL.

My official time was 37:19. I'm PSYCHED because my only two goals were that I finish and I finish under 40 minutes. I posted a picture on my profile, I have no idea how to make it show up in a thread.

You guys are all an inspiration and I am definitely hooked on running!

Congrats on your first! You never forget your first ;) Way to get up that hill! I run faster without music, maybe you can try to train without music.
