Not Quite Friday workouts -- Wednesday

I don't have any formal exercise planned since my swim was stormed out.  I've added lots of movement to my everyday stuff though  (parking down the ramp of the parking garage and walking up , taking 2 flights of stairs at a jog, standing at my desk instead of sitting,e tc. ).   My work started an everyday challenge to walk 10 minutes and then they have a "task" to complete each day. Today is 25 pushups so I will knock those out this evening.

What are you REAL exercise folks doing today?

Had to run at the gym this morning because it was pouring here. Finished 3.1 miles in 35 minutes, which is quite fast for me but I pushed myself today because, well if you dont keep up with the speed you set on a treadmill you fall off! I will most certainly not run that fast on Sunday but Im ok with that. People were looking at me funny at the gym because when I was done I looked like I had run in the rain! It was a damn good workout!

Thats awesome about your work challenge!

My trainer is leaving the gym I met him at to open his own studio. So I checked another gym, LA Fitness (a Signature facility) literally up the road and around the corner from my house (when I walked in...seriously...if I were a guy, I so woulda hadda woody). I picked up a membership yesterday and had the complimentary training session today.

Man! I tried out an elliptical machine I've never used before called the Matrix. Holy cow! Then I did planks, side planks, something with my leg up in the air and pelvic lifts, squats on a bosu ball (wobble much?), lunges (deep lunges), and burpees with the bosu ball. The burpees were huge for me because I can't do them the normal way, just rags on my knees. But the trainer said using the bosu ball would make them doable. I was SO stoked!

Stoked enough to shell out money to meet with their trainer twice a week in addition to meeting with MY trainer twice a week. I told the LA Fitness trainer I didn't want to break up with mine. He suggested using both, and I thought it was a great idea.

Didn't run outside because of thunder, lighting, and downpouring, so I did 5 miles on the treadmill

Yesterday 30 minutes of walking and an hour and a half of strength training.

Another 30 minutes of walking today, and then some sort of cardio tonight. Weather depending on the activity.

arrived from Israel this morning.. after a hard week of meetings and 15 hour days and a 12 hour flight, all I could muster was about 900 yards in the pool and about 1.5 miles on the TM.  Just shot.  I am so not ready for race season.
