Totally COOL!
So one day looking around the web at sites I was on the Wounded Warrior Foundation's website. I was looking through their events and discovered that the only Half Marathon for the oundation is being held in the Atlanta area. Not a lot of information about the event so I emailed the contact to get more information. I quickly heard back from him that they were in the process of finalizing plans for the event.
Today I got an email from the guy saying that everything was finalized and the site was up. The coolest part is that he gave me a free entry into the race, plus a T-shirt for the Biker ride the night before!
So like 2 years ago I doubted I could ever run a half marathon and now I go looking for them, and even get a freebie every now and then. This will be shortly before HIM Augusta and I will probably use it as my last long run. It may be over ambitous to do a half 2 weeks before a HIM but the run is the same and I'll walking the freaking thing if I have to. This is a cause I will support
