Wondering if I can do it

As Bill has pointed out you are learning a lesson we have all learned at some point on this forum, and that is we don't talk people out of obtaining their goals here.

I just finished my first sprint Tri last month and with as nervous as I was I can say it was probably one of the best times I have had while doing something fitness related. I had so much fun that I have another one in two weeks, and a half ironman in Sept.

Just like with running the hardest thing to do will be to sign up and then show up, but giving the price of Tri registration fees if I pay for it I am going to do it.

Yes a tri requires a bit more out of you than a 5 or 10k but just like those races if you put in the time and training the reward will be well worth the work.

Besides if you didn't want to do it you wouldn't have asked usif you should, now go register and start training!

Oh you are exactly right! I DO want to do it... desperately.  I just don't know if my desperation will see me through. I have no confidence in me as a finisher. I'm not known as a quitter, but I also have never attempted anything athletic in my life.
I think I am going to wait and see if I accomplish my first goal - jogging the whole 5k on may 19. If I do, I will register immediately that afternoon (will still be early registration).
