Exercise and Naps

I have recently begun working out in preparation for my eventual surgery and my new life.  I'm not exhausting myself or anything (just 1 hour of water aerobics or 1/2 hour on the treadmill and some arm weights 3 times a week), but I keep finding I crash later into a nap.

Is this normal?  Will this get better?

It will get better.  You'll build up your stamina and as you drop the lbs you'll find it easier.  Exercise is really important to help you drop your maximum during that first 6 month period where the lbs seem to really shed.

Listen to your body and if you need to rest--rest.

I don't think it's a bad thing!  I've actually been doing something similar...I get up around 7am every morning and usually go to the gym for an hr, followed by about 3hrs of water aerobics (I love being in the water and put work/school on hold so I could focus on my health this year).  I'm usually exhausted by about 3pm and find I need a nap for an hr or so to recharge so I can get through the evening.  I'm usually tired again and in bed by 11pm...

When I wasn't on this routine a few months ago, I was always tired anyway.  I was also eating at awful times and up all hours of the night.  And now I feel great...I haven't had any specialists tell me it's wrong or should be avoided, quite the opposite actually.

LinR is right...listen to your body!!!

I often do the same thing. Ive been working out hard and steady for 3 months and Im still tired!  I workout mostly in the evenings after work, but I susually need a nap on the weekends if I workout in the morning.

Im not one of those people who workout and have lots of energy leftover. I think Its just me.
