Dumb Running Question

So...I'm stuck on a decision. I discovered merely because God tweaked with the weather here in Michigan for two weeks that I really enjoy running outside. Now that it's in the low 40's, I'm guessing it's too cold to go run around town (literally).

Is that just a bit too cold, or should I just pile on the shirts, sweatpants and go entertain myself?

You can still go - you'll warm up as you go.

That was my favorite temp to jog in ND(as long as the wind wasnt whipping around)  I dressed as if it was 15-20 warmer and usually was comfortable in about 10 minutes.  I usually wore gloves and ear warmers.

I did my coldest run in 27 degrees and know a few people that have ran in single digits. The key is all in what you wear. A pair of long fitted cold weather running pants and long sleeves. Besure to late layer because you will get warm.

Just ignore the snot running out your nose while you run, nothing you do will make it stop. Besides it will probably freeze into a snotsicle lol.

40's is good but anything colder and my lungs can't handle it...but I'm still new at outdoor running.  My lungs start to feel like they are burning and I feel like I'm wheezing and then afterwards I cough for about an hour.  But other than that...I'm not cold at all after about 15 minutes...except my hands.  I wear gloves.

I started a 16 miler back in January and my car showed 19 degrees when I got out of it at the lake to start. You will warm up quick and the hands, head, and nose/ears are what need protection.

I have a pair of black saucony cold weather tights and two underarm or shirts. A bondi band rocks over the ears.

Be happy.

I have done some single digit runs and they take some getting used to but by layering up, it's doable. I have a ski mask that helps and one of my favorite things for really cold runs is a pair of old school sweat pants with elastic at the ankle and a draw string. I just pulled them on over my shorts. Don't dick around with the new cool running gloves. Go with the big thick winter gloves.
