Thursday Workouts
So I decided to try and kill myself and did Ease Into 10k. Let me just say the amount of WHOOHOO built up inside of me was just overwhelming because I ran three minutes straight for the first time...ever. There were 5 of those. I had to pause the app a couple of times to catch myself because I so don't have breathing down. It added a few minutes to the timer. I went 2.31 miles. Then I stayed on the treadmill because...well...all my other cardio stuff is always an hour. I finished off at 4.05 miles after walking very very fast for the remainder of the hour.
I learned:
-I can run for three minutes and not die...even with crappy knees.
-I need to invest in more Gu. I'm totally boggled over being able to do a spin class on a banana and Jif-To-Go for 20 some odd miles of intervals, can do 5-5.5 miles on an elliptical..but that treadmill thing about sent me off the edge.
-My doctor said at my 10 month check up was "cross training". Me! Cross training! OMG- a year ago I was debating moving out of my flat because I couldn't handle the stairs.
-I have a 10k in June. I think I could do it in under an hour. I have the course mapped out and it conveninently starts within walking distance of my house.
I'm so jazzed!
