work out question
Since you are going to the gym anyway, I would add some weight training to the routine. Muscle burns calories while you are at rest so adding muscle will assist in weight loss by burning calories for you. I would also keep up the cardio also because of all the benifits to it.

Since most heavy people have strong legs I always thought it was important to keep the legs strong by doing some leg press, leg extensions and leg curls. I would also work on the chest back and arms.
Here is a little secret: Any man in any gym loves to be asked for workout advice so if you see someone who looks like they know what they are doing you could ask them or ask staff. They are typically pretty helpful.

Adding strength training is a good idea, you'll burn additional calories when you're not actually working out. Bodyweight exercises work well, like push ups, squats and lunges. Plus they can always be modified, so you could do pushups on your knees for instance. I found a good article about it, I'll post it if I can find it.
