good workout today.

around an hour of strength training (back/bi/shoulders) followed by a 75 min spin including an aerobic endurance spin class.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Oh dear God almighty!  I just went for my first personal training session and my legs are buckling under me!   I've signed up for once a week for the next 3 months so it will be cool to see me get stronger.

she took me through squats, lunges, jumping jacks, scissor kicks, weights, and this strap thing you hold on to while pulling yourself up from a laying back position.  I was going to stay for Zumba but I think this is all I can manage for now.  Damn!  Lol...

Got a question for the vets - do you do rest days?  If so, do you take a break from EVERYTHING or just do some light cardio perhaps?  I'm training for a sprint tri, and as a complete newbie, I'm not sure if I should be doing something 7 days a week or if I should be taking 1-2 rest days a week.  The way I feel today, I think I need a rest day.  I am 100% wiped out.

Thanks!

Yes, you absolutely need a rest day. Think of it as a recovery day, as when you work out, you are breaking muscle fibers and to be stronger you need to give them a chance to rebuild. This doesn't mean you have to sit on the couch, you can still do your normal light activity, but at least take 1 or 2 days off from "working out"

Good Luck,

3.1 mile on the tm, was gonna do more, but my HR was really spiking and not recovering right.  Chalking it up to a few weeks of rough travel and stress, and a pretty rough day yesterday (that started with that killer spin class).  Luckily, I get to travel again tomomow so its a rest day.... not....
