question about how much exercise?

I have lost 107 pounds with the sleeve. But now I am finding that the remaining weight is coming off very slow. I have been working out for 40 minutes a day for 4-5 days. How can I speed up the weight loss with exercise? What am I missing? What type of exercise was most helpful? How often do most people work out? Any information would be appreciated. thanks!

I don't know how far out you are, but it's normal for the weight to come off slower- the farther out from surgery you get.

If you are finding yourself in an exercise rut- try changing it up. I don't' know what you do now, but whatever it is, increase your intensity. For example, if you are walking on a treadmill, make the incline steeper or go longer or alternate between running and walking (or all 3!).

There is no exercise that is more helpful, as long as you are getting a mix of cardio and strength training. If 40min is all you can do great, but that's not a lot of time- could you increase it to an hour?

Have you thought about doing a race or something to help keep you motivated?

I can increase my exercise to 1 hour. I will also change up the intesity. great suggestions. I am intimidated to train for a race. Although, it is a good idea. Thanks for all your advice. It is appreciated.

Oh 5k's are great to do- they are low key, fun and casual. They are totally great event to start with. Have you heard of the Couch to 5k program, it's a great way to learn to run a 5k!
There are all kinds, and sizes of folks who do these races...so think about it...

Good Luck

This a great way to start running.  I have the the 5k runner on my ipod touch.  I love it.  My next goal is to do the 10K. There is a person that tells you when to run and when to walk and every work out is longer and longer as far as the running and walking goes.....

 What Danni said.

A lot of people slow down in weight loss around 6 months out but I didn't and it was COMPLETELY because I started exercising more ... since I also started eating more. The extra exercise counteracted the extra calories.

It sounds like increasing my exercise and intensity is the answer. I have a new direction. Thanks for helping me out of my rut!
