P90X2

So....did the first workout last night.  Core.  Ouch.  I am amazed at the different stuff Tony keeps coming up with!  It kind of felt like when I started P90X.  Some of the moves I just stared in disbelief wondering how I'd ever get my body to do THAT!  I guess over time, I'll get them down!

Tonight is Plyocide.  If I live through it, I'll give you a review.

 Hey Kim,

I was just wondering..... have you tried to follow the P90X diet at all? I started it today and am having a REALLY hard time eating as much food as they suggest. I had the lap-band surgery about a year ago and have not lost much weight (about 25 lbs), so I'm trying to kick start my weight loss with the P90X diet and exercise regimen. Any advice you have would be helpful!!

Good luck with P90X2!

I didn't even look at the diet part since I have a specific way I need to eat for my surgery.

The key, I believe is to ensure you are getting enough calories each day, and a balanced diet.  Do you know if you are getting enough each day?  And how many grams of protein and carbs are you eating?

P90X is hard core and you'll need enough fuel to get through them.  I've been doing P90X for 2.5 years now, and I need to eat a pretty good bit to keep the energy up.  Daily I eat 1,800-2,000 calories with 120 grams of protein and the same in carbs (most of my carbs are complex carbs). I also eat 6 small meals a day which I believe has really helped my metabolism.

My wife and I are about to start on p90x. I've been working out for almost 2 years now since my RNY. I want to try and tone up some now. She has been struggling with some regain at almost 5 years post op so we're hoping p90x can help each of us out. I'm actually excited to start it.

The muscle you gain from P90X definitely helps the metabolism!  I love P90X, P90X+ and now I'm just starting on P90X2.

Good luck!  You've make a great decision.

It is insane, but doable!  I've been doing P90X for 2.5 years and I'm struggling--BUT I CAN DO IT.

so true!  I've been staring at the TV in disbelief with some of these new moves, but I did the same thing with P90X.  I NEVER thought I could do a one handed push up, but I can!  Now, I STILL cannot do an unassisted pull up....I have to keep a toe on the chair...but I think it just isn't in my DNA to be able to do it!

So far, I really like most of it.....I'm not a fan of the stuff he does with the cylinder thingee, but as always, there is an alternative offered that I do like.

So far, so good, and I can't wait to see how much more defined my muscles are this summer!

I can't do an unassisted pull up either, I'm ok with push ups. I'm hoping to be able to crank out some pull ups eventually.
