Bad Goofy News...

Hey Goofy friends....  Unfortunately, life has dealt me a bit of a bad moment.  Some pretty uncertain things in my job as well as some issues in my private life have made me decide to cancel going down to florida for the Goofy :(  I am pretty depressed, but gotta set the priorities right and its the right thing for me to do right now for my family and my job.  Hoping you guys rock the race, I will be cheering for you all, and hopefully I can meet up again.  Pretty deflated, but its Christmas, so I will try to be Merry!

Well that sucks.

I will still be there because we already paid for the plane tickets and the vacation and the race and most of it isn't refundable, but not being able to do the Goofy part has put a damper on my naturally high spirts. (In fact, not being able to workout has turned me into a whiny grump.)

What I'm wondering is: since the races are already sold out, do you think there are people who would like our bibs? I know technically race entries aren't transferable but if we don't take the timing chip, would it really matter?

I figure we've paid for the aide stations and the finish line food so someone should be able to take advantage of it!

Yeah, I hate to waste things and also I like to salvage bad situations.

I hope yours isn't TOO bad. Mine is mostly just frustrating and (hopefully) short term.

at this point its just being prudent, nothing too bad, but things might turn quite a bit in a hurry- nothing health related, just massive job changes, including a potential relocation or other bad changes, some possible additions to the household, and general stress.  Just seems like everything is sort of apexing in early Jan and doing this trip doesn't make sense and would be pretty selfish of me, esp considering the events I already did in 2011.

I went through this conversation with my family just a few weeks ago. The main difference is that my family is dying to go to WDW (and the Harry Potter section of Universal Studios) so they are pushing to go while I am the lone voice of: "this doesn't make sense, guys".

IOW, I feel selfish for trying to convince them not to go even though I know I'm being sensible about the $$$.

additions to the household could be a good thing.

As for relocations they do such and I have done a ton of them in my lifetime. I am glad I made the last one, because I probably wouldn't be where I am now without it.

Are you out of all big events this year?
