First Ride... short ride...

I went out on the bike I am going to be riding in the dual. I'm going to sound so silly, but I was really scared to get started. My cruiser that I normally ride isn't as high and I don't have to put my feet in stirrups... it took me a couple minutes but I got on and got going. My husband and I rode a quick 3 miles. It was really just to get a taste of it. I was a little whiney. I'm... ummm... delicate. LOL. That's a nice way of saying I'm kinda a sissy and so I was complaining because the seat was REALLY hurting! Riding shorts are in my near future... I can still feel it today.

So basically (aside from the hard seat) it went well. I'm a little less nervous now and a little more confident.

Great!

It will get easier and more comfortable the more you do it.

Good cycling pants make a big difference.
Bigger and squishier seats aren't always the best answer they can make you sit funny and cause chafing issues.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

My husband is going to go get me some cycling pants today. I know I just need to get use to it... who knows, maybe I'll end up really liking this and get a fancy bike and everything!

Yay! Bike shorts are really awesome. I was using a padded gel seat for spin class for a while and then when i lost it, i started just wearing padded shorts and its a lot better actually. It will hurt for a while but now I can't really feel it and it doesnt bother me (and im still 250 lbs!)

I'll be in Sacramento for Christmas if you want to take a ride together :)

"I don't have to put my feet in stirrups".... GREATNESS!!!

"I went out on the bike I am going to be riding in the dual" .. (The next bit added for theatrical resonance)... "TO THE DEATH, YES, A DUAL TO THE DEATH"!! It's a Du... Duathlon. Not Dual... WAYYYYYY defferent, unless you want to ride upstream and joust the crap out of the other athletes with a broom handle! (Get video if you DU... I mean do)

"I can still feel it today"... What can I say girl, you are on a roll! LOL

Proud of you... You are gonna rock it!

Awesome. How many other Sissy's out their do you know actually doing something out of their comfort zone. Keep up the good work, and enjoy the ride. (Figuretively and Literally).
