Awesome 12 mile run at an 11 minute pace. It was 28 at the start and stayed cold enough to freeze the sweat to the brim of my cap.

I think I am ready for the turkey day half.

Ditto on Paul's post since we ran it together. 12 miles at an 11 min pace. I know i can do the Turkey ay Half Marathon, the question will be at what speed.

UM...too much too soon?  LOL  20 MPH winds and the promise of a club ride that the average pace would be around 14 MPH.  I was expecting 10-11 into the wind and the fly back.  6 riders and I decided to give it a go instead of the slower group.  I had about 100 miles in the previous 2.5 weeks and wasn't worried too much.  I also told them that if it got too much I would just peel out and solo.  Well...someone didn't get the memo and the outbound pace was close to 15 MPH into the wind.  I was smart and only did a 1/2 mile pull but then we hit some rollers.  OTB baby!

Been wrestling with understanding what has happened to my HR.  I topped out at 209!  I was able to tread water...so to speak...at 180.  I'm soooo confused now.  LOL

Been googleing the affects of weight loss on HR but nothing found yet.  I've lost 43 LBS in 35 days...I know that plays into this but still...

So, I did manage to break it off, recover down to 155-160, plod into the wind on my own for a while then enjoy the free ride back.  So...I may have had to leave the pack but I didn't out right quit either.

question for you experienced riders.... the chain popped off when i was gearing down from 2nd to 1st....  Do you think i just need an adjustment on the shifter?

You might need the chain adjusted, or replaced.

Errand day (can't call it a rest day). Will be up and on some machine when the gym opens in the morning.

Just joined Planet Fitness today.  Walked 30 min on the tredmill at 3.4 & 15 min on the elipitical.  Plan to work my way up to jogging soon.

we have a planet fitness near me. is it really ten bucks a month, and for that do they show you how to use the equipment? just wondering how they really are.

Yep, $10 per month. It was $1 to join yesterday & then they bill your credit card $10 each month around the 17th - so I don't pay that until December.
They do charge $29 annual fee which gets charged in December, so if you calculate that into the fee, it's actually a little higher, but still a lot cheaper than the other gyms by my house.

They do have a more expensive membership that's $20/month - if you pay that you can bring a guest with you to workout, can workout at any of their locations, also it gives you unlimited tanning, red light therapy, unlimited use of the massage chairs & 1/2 on drinks if you buy them there.

I just signed up for the basic $10/month plan. That plan includes the classes they offer. They give you a schedule with the different classes you can take. One of the classes is by appointment only - they help you design a workout based on your goals. The location by me is open 24 hours so it's nice that you can go whenever you want.

So far I really like it, went yesterday and then again today. Oh and if you take headphones, they hook right into the cardio equipment so you can listen to the TV's while you workout.

You should check it out, they give you a quick tour when you go in. They told me if you ever have a question on how a machine works, they will show you how to use it. The people at the my gym are very friendly and helpful.
