I'm just tired of having running races where I grit through my injury or lack of fitness caused by said injury and finish only by a great mental effort and lots of pain management. Therefore, I wanted to show up at this race actually trained and actually ready for it. That seems less and less likely at this point.

Plus I have my marathon in 3 weeks and there's no way that's going to be a good experience at this point. At least I'm not tapering for it since it's a training day for me, not a race.

What about just sitting on your A$$ for a while and letting yourself really heal.  No pushing it, no testing it, no finding something else to do.  Actually letting yourself heal?

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

The only thing that breaks up scar tissue is PT, working out and time. Not doing anything doesn't make it go away faster according to my doctor (and my own experience).

I am actually at the point where I can run without a lot of pain. I was running 2 hours at a time and did one run of 2.5 hours and two HMs before I broke my brain. I was so excited that I could train properly and this past weekend I was going to try running long on Sat and Sun (i.e., two days in a row) for the first time.

It's frustrating to have your body be raring to go and not be able to work out because of your brain.

So now I'm going to whine until I can run again because I feel ripped off. LOL
