Finished my first 10-mile race...

 Hey all,

I finished my first 10 mile race on Saturday (Monster Dash in St. Paul).  I was actually pretty happy with my time!  I totally thought I was on track for a pace somewhere in the 10's being that I was able to hold a conversation the whole way with my friend, however I ended up with a 9:20 pace and finished in just over 1:33.  Both my friend and I were feeling so good that we both wished we would have signed up for the 1/2 and could have kept going for another 3 miles.

Brrr!  It was definitely cold.  Took about 4 miles for my fingers (in gloves) to finally warm up.  My tracking app posted that it was 28 degrees when I started.  Gotta love Minnesota.

Anyway here are my over all stats:

Time:  1:33:20
Avg. Pace:  9:20
Overall Place:  822/2181
Gender Place:  319:528
Age Group Place:  56/90 (35-39 yrs)

Cheers,
John

That's a great pace. Congrats! Running in the cold is painful!
