Suggestions for MCL Sprain and Poss Tear

I have a rather painful MCL sprain on my right knee, and a possible meniscus tear (got to love the pop-on-exention thing). My doctor has asked for me to have no tension on the knee at all until we get the results of the MRI I am having this weekend. If it is a tear, we're going to ask the orthopedist to clean it out. If it's not, then she want to do PT and we discussed strengthening the quads after the symptoms calm down a bit (i had no idea MCL sprains took so long to heal).

Which is a pain. ALL of the PT places in my area are booked after hours/weekends, and taking time off work isnt' an option. That said...would my personal trainer know how to approach that whole topic? Anyone else come up anything like that? Suggestions?

Thanks.

Your Personal Trainer would have a completely different Education than your Physical Therapist.  These types of injuries are best dealt with by an Ortho and a Physical Therapist.

You are better off making the PT work somehow.

I had a feeling, but I thought it was worth asking.
