Attempted two mile repeats. After the first in 8:20 my legs were jelly for the second which completed in 9:30. Far cry from my 6 sub 8's last year but better than a few months ago.

Preliminary training for 1/2 marathon. This week I walk 3-4 mph for 30 min 4 days.   Should I worry about carbs at this point? I usually have about 100 a day. Also, would you find it normal for me to gain a pound or two the first week? I know it's not muscle but maybe fluid retention that's feeding those muscles.

I think a little residual weight gain is probably normal. I would not worry about increasing carbs at this point. Just eat a healthy well-balanced diet and you should be fine...

Didn't see a forum for yesterday, so yesterday I did a 5 mile run, today I did 60 minutes of intervals on the bike trainer

Jogged 2 miles in 27 min - I went to the gym for a 15 min obligatory walk since I was tired, but ended up setting a new record. Getting very close to running a 5K. Slow but steady.
