That's a pretty sweet shirt

Today I did a 6.2 mile run at the mile track, and did mile 3 and mile 5 at an 8:10 pace for some speedwork. Interesting that I can hold this pace in a half marathon, but when training at that pace I want to puke.

nice!   I gotta get to one of those soon :)

5k on the tm in 27 minutes with reverse splits, lets mile at 7:20.  Starting to get my legs back I guess day by day.  Lackluster chest and tri routine.

Nothing, and probably nothing until Sunday.

I have a 1/2 marathon on Sunday and I've been having foot/heel pain.

I have it taped right now and a brace on it.

Regular walking doesn't seem to bug it and running doesn't either, but when I dig in and push off or stand up from sitting, it feels like I an pulling or tearing a muscle in my heel.

I'm hoping it will lessen between now and Sunday if I baby it and support it.

 Seht,

What you are describing are classic symptoms of plantar faciitis.

Forgive me for butting in on a thread that I really don't belong on..but I just wanted to pass that along to you.   Best of luck with your marathon!  :)

yep..sounds like Plantar.. my doc told me to freeze a coke bottle of water and roll on it first thing and the morning and whenever I could, and it work wonders.

Looking at the anotomy pictures online, the pain is more in my achilles than the Plantar area.
It starts at the back of the foot/heel and then goes laterally up the outside of my heel.

We'll see what happens, I'm going to give the stretching, cold and massage a try.

Dan, so she must have said, "Been there, done that, got the t-shirt to prove it!"  Nice work.

I walked 4.5 miles.  I know I need to take it easy but damn it, I want to get back on the bike.  LOL
